Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are having a great week! I’m going to catch up on some writing this weekend while Brett is on a golf trip to Palm Springs. Today I thought I would share some photos from my meals over the past week, and talk about my workouts because they’ve really made a difference! I’ve been staying on track for a couple weeks now and the results show!
My main rules have been: Watching the sweets, ordering healthy when out, staying active by doing something 6 days a week with one rest day, drink water, alcoholic drinks limited to 1 day a week.
When I say “doing something” 6 days a week, it doesn’t have to be a workout, but something that will allow me to burn calories. I also get bored easily so I create as much variety as possible in my workouts. When I’m in my routine, I do at least one of each of the following:
-run
-hot yoga
-corepower yoga sculpt/ hot power fusion
-cardio barre
-spin
They’re all great workouts… And all very different, which I love! I also love outdoor activities like hiking, biking, walking the dog and rollerblading. You don’t feel like its working out, even though you burn a ton of calories doing them!
Food is the same way… I’ve tried to eat lots of veggies, and keep the superfood ideas in mind from the article I posted from All Food Magazine. I have my favorites, but I try to switch it up and hold off on the empty calorie ingredients if I’m out. Here are some examples:
I experimented with my eggs by trying to cook them in the microwave lol. 1 egg and 2 egg whites with some steamed veggies that I put balsamic vinaigrette, EVOO, salt, pepper, & lemon juice on.
Strawberry & spinach salad from Finbars Italian Kitchen. Light Dressing!
Mixed veggie salad for dinner with goat cheese and a lite champagne vinaigrette
Egg white and spinach breakfast with a slice of wheat toast and a small OJ:)
The Irvine Salad with grilled chicken at Lucca’s with a client. Yum!
Roasted beet and veggie salad dinner. *Recipe posted
Lite Activia vanilla yogurt, oat and granola flakes, and some sliced strawberries
(This was a big lunch because I went to hot yoga and had to keep dinner lite before the workout) garden veggie salad with lite champagne vinaigrette, and crumbled goat cheese.
Veggie Juice: beets, spinach, kale, carrots & and apple
Happy 4th! 2 banana pancakes with fresh fruit and agave:P
Garden veggie patty, veggies and goat cheese… Don’t forget the water!
Dinner was grilled chicken tacos with guacamole and grilled veggies. After the show, we ate the Angel Food Cake dessert I posted under Healthy Sweet Treats… Delish!!!
Chicken breast over rice pilaf with steamed carrots and green beans at the CAI Orange County education Luncheon
Spicy Silver Noodle Salad after a run with Brett at Bangkok Corner. I’ll definitely be adding this place to my favorites list:)!
This next photo was from our family dinner last Sunday with my lil’ brother Alex at the Litehouse in Long Beach. Since he is stationed in Pearl Harbor, we hardly get to see each other. His unexpected training assignment in LA was a great surprise! I had the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi with bok choy and asparagus instead of rice pilaf.
A twist on a chicken salad: grilled chicken, romaine salad, grilled bell peppers and a homemade dressing. *recipe posted
And the best for last: my hubbie made me breakfast in bed for the first time today! Made my whole day!!!
Wow, that was a bit of a photo rant! I hope you enjoyed the photos… They’re making me hungry looking back lol. I am constantly posting photos to Instagram and Pinterest. Take a look for some great inspirational photos on Food, Fitness & Lifestyle!!!
