Hey Everyone!
Hope you are having a great week so far… Its been a little hectic for me between work, home, my dinner tonight for The Raise Foundation, and leaving for Lake Tahoe Saturday. I can’t wait to take a nap at the house in Tahoe! Bliss:)
Tuesday night my mother in law and I escaped from the stress for a bit and headed to Sur La Table for a Warm Weather French Feast Class! It’s the first time I’ve ever taken an actual class… Way different then clicking pause on a Food Network show to write notes! Lol. The class was pretty full with 12 people, so we split into groups of 4 and created the following items with Chef Sharon Murphy:
-Nicoise Olive & Almond Tapenade
-Grilled Steak Au Poive with Fleur De Sel
-Grilled Fingerling Potato Salad with Bacon & Dijon-Tarragon Vinaigrette
-Honey Lavender Ice Cream
Yum! Upon entering the class we were offered water or some delicious coffee options. I snagged a non-fat latte and felt like a kid at Christmas as I put my apron on:) The instructor Sharon had several assistants which was great! They were all women, and seemed to really work well as a team.
We started with a delicious an simple salad that you have to try! It’s just watermelon balls, manchego (spanish) cheese, and thick balsamic drizzled on top:)
When we got to use the stovetops I felt like I had my own pretend show on the Food Network… They even had TVs set up so you could view what was going on from the tables!
Don’t worry, I took the recipe packets and uploaded some photos so you can make the dishes too!
The notes about the halibut are an option if you don’t feel like red meat:) Just put the sliced tomatoes on the bottom of the pan and the fish on top!
At $65 a person this is an experience for any foodie! Here are some photos of our night… Don’t mind my lack of hair and makeup, I rushed home after cardio to go lol.
Lots of Love,
Mrs. B
