Hey guys,
I thought I’d share with you what I like to call my “quick fixes.” It’s always good to have a handful of items in the fridge that you can use to put together really quick meals or something healthy to tie you over between meals. If you don’t have time for the juicer, try making sure you stock the fridge with some of these items:
Non-fat yogurt
*i get the light Activia Yogurt in Vanilla and Peach
Raw Almonds
Agave
Apples
Unsweetened Almond milk
Bananas
Flax Seed Oil
*Cinnamon
There are so many ways to combine these ingredients… Smoothies are faster then juicing. A bowl of yogurt and fruit make a yummy dish. the oil I get comes in a squeeze bottle from Spouts but you can pick some up at any health food store for both smoothies and bowls. It has almost no flavor so you don’t have to worry about the cod liver oil our moms used to give us… (blah!)
This bowl literally took me 4 minutes and that’s just because I like to play with my food:)
1 Activia Vanilla Yogurt
1 handful of blueberries
1 handful of Almonds
A pinch of Cinnamon
1 squeeze of Flax Seed oil
I stir the oil in the yogurts and then add the other ingredients on top. If you have non-fat plain yogurt, drizzle a little Agave to sweeten things up.
*I’d leave the almonds out for small children though…
See? Yum! Note the pop of color I mentioned in my post about feeling gloomy:)
Smoothies usually consist of milk and frozen items so I use almond milk because you can use a cup and it only has 40 calories! Add some frozen bananas, almonds, agave and cinnamon for a delicious smoothie that fills you up for a few meals until you can sit down to eat!
Be creative and take 3-4 minutes instead of reaching for your husbands Cheezits! (I say this because I know they’re on the top shelf of my pantry…)
Have a Healthy Day!
Lots of Love,
Mrs. B
